YouTube Partner Program: lower entry tier shown on the YouTube Creators page
YouTube's Creators 'Earn' page answers 'How many subscribers do I need to get paid?' with 500 subscribers and smaller watch-hour and Shorts numbers than the YouTube Partner Program ads entry. YouTube's help page says these 500-subscriber numbers are the ones for fan funding, YouTube Creator Partnerships and YouTube Shopping.
Requirements as stated on the source
- 500 subscribers and 3 public uploads (past 90 days) and either:
- 3,000 valid watch hours on long-form videos (past 365 days), or
- 3M valid Shorts views (past 90 days).
Process
Not described in the excerpt we read.
Notes and caveats
- A YouTube help troubleshooter says the expanded program offers 'earlier access to fan funding features (like channel memberships, Super Thanks, Super Chat, and more) and the ability to promote your own products with YouTube Shopping', and lists the countries where it has fully rolled out.
- YouTube's help page 'Changes to the YouTube Partner Program' says: "There are no changes to the eligibility requirements for fan funding, YouTube Creator Partnerships, or YouTube Shopping. These products will continue to help creators to start their earning journeys even earlier when they reach 500 subscribers and either 3,000 qualified watch hours in the last year or 3M qualified Shorts views in the last 90 days." It gives the 1,000-subscriber numbers (4,000 watch hours or 10 million Shorts views today; 8,000 or 20 million for new applicants from February 1, 2027) under 'Updating YPP ads & Premium entry thresholds', which is the YouTube Partner Program ads entry.
- That help page does not mention the 3-uploads-in-90-days condition; the Creators page does.
- The 3-uploads-in-90-days condition is not modeled in the checker below.
